Africa Relief helps 70,000 people
Africa Relief is currently delivering food to nearly 70,000 people for an entire month.
Last month, Dr. Asgar Moledina, President of The World Federation visited the refugee camps in Dadaab, and the IDP camps of Mogadishu. After seeing the level of human suffering, The World Federation pledged to provide food and medical assistance to those people currently suffering from this crisis.
Africa Relief is The World Federation’s campaign to help the people of East Africa by providing them with enough food to survive the harsh
conditions and rising food prices. In addition Africa Relief is working towards providing medical assistance to the refugees of North Eastern Kenya in the form of health and surgical outreach camps.
Over 12 million people require immediate assistance in East Africa, and 675 children die everyday among Mogadishu’s IDP population. The number of cases of acute malnutrition keeps rising, and the whole North Eastern Kenyan region faces a high level of food insecurity.
The President of The World Federation, Dr Moledina said, “For an area that hasn’t seen any rains for a long time, and the escalating numbers of people who cannot afford to buy food at an increased price going hungry, the people of East Africa really need your help.”
You can help the people of East Africa by gifting them a food parcel that will feed a family of 7 for an entire month. Your donation of £20 GBP / $32 USD-CAD will sponsor one food parcel and will ensure that this family doesn’t face any food insecurity for the duration of this month.
