£20 feeds a family for a month
Having prepared the logistics for the delivery of food parcels for the refugee camps in Dadaab, and IDP camps in Mogadishu, Africa Relief is immediately dispatching 10000 food baskets to various refugee camps and IDP camps.
Currently the new arrivals to the refugee camps in Dadaab are waiting nearly two weeks to be registered and during this time they face severe challenges of food and water shortages. Therefore The World Federation is sending food baskets to Dadaab to feed the 1,100 refugees arriving everyday.
Each and every refugee in North Eastern Kenya told us they had left behind the weakest members of their family in Somalia, and it was essential
to us to ensure we helped the neglected people of Somalia.
Shan-E-Abbas Hassam, Secretary General of The World Federation said, “Currently there are 450,000 displaced people living in Mogadishu with no idea where their next meal will come from. We need to increase our efforts to help these people because the famine will continue to persist for months to come. It becomes our duty to help those in need and we must ensure we do all we can in their time of need.”
